Services Provided
The school counseling program at BMS is here to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. We offer a variety of services designed to meet individual needs, help students navigate challenges, and build important life skills. Students can participate in small group sessions, meet with the counselor individually, or take part in classroom guidance lessons. Each of these services is designed to provide support, guidance, and tools for success both in school and beyond. Parents are welcome to request and review the school counseling curriculum at any time by contacting the school counselor.
1. Small Group Counseling
Small group sessions provide students with a safe and supportive space to discuss common challenges, practice skills, and learn strategies together. Groups often focus on topics like social skills, friendship, coping with stress, or study habits. Students benefit from learning alongside peers who share similar experiences.
2. Individual Counseling
Individual sessions are one-on-one meetings between a student and the school counselor. These sessions are confidential and tailored to each student’s needs. They can focus on personal, academic, or social-emotional concerns, helping students set goals, solve problems, and develop strategies for success.
3. Guidance Lessons
Guidance lessons are structured classroom lessons led by the school counselor for all students. These lessons cover topics such as career exploration, study skills, setting goals, emotional regulation, and decision-making. They provide students with knowledge and tools that support their overall growth and well-being.
